Background
Inspired by the belief that owners of superb clothes and shoes deserve superb valeting, Stephen Haughton, himself the son of a tailor, founded Burford Valet Service in London in 1993.
Stephen’s belief remains the foundation of Burford’s business.
Turning this belief into practice has led Burford to accumulate consistently exemplary reviews from clients who include some of the World’s most powerful and best-dressed men, usually when they live in or visit London.
Burford has mostly developed through clients recommending Burford Valet Service to their family and friends.
While discretion and respect for clients’ security - for example, we exclusively use unliveried vehicles - are essential characteristics of our service, Stephen Haughton and Burford Valet Service also regularly feature in publications about elite men’s clothing.
The Valet Service
While every client is unique, our normal service is to collect clients’ clothes and shoes from clients’ homes, to return them once valeted and to provide such in-house valeting as clients require.
Stephen Haughton has an unrivalled network of connections and, if clothes need repairs, he can draw on London's finest artisans. Our work is labour intensive but our prices are honest and clients pay only for what they require.
Valeting is the foundation on which Burford’s business is built and, as well as our normal service, we are happy to provide rigorously selected personal valets and other household staff for temporary and permanent assignments anywhere in the World and for as many hours a week as a client requires.
Even if Burford cannot do something ourselves, we generally know someone honest and reliable who can.
